Welcome to the Reo Rua Ltd. website where you will find more information about the Māori language education, training, and consultancy services I provide locally within the Wairarapa-Wellington regions, as well as nationally in Aotearoa/New Zealand and abroad. I have experience and professional backgrounds in education, professional development provision, curriculum design and development, and language teaching. I am a language and culture enthusiast, having been teaching English, Te Reo Māori, Spanish, Italian languages to all ages - for a number of years, with a strong focus in adult education for the past 9 years. 

Some of my career highlights include: 

…teaching languages in Rome, Italy for 3 years;

…designing the Māori Language curriculum for one of New Zealand’s largest Community Education centres, which was nominated for a National Māori Language Award;

…designing the curriculum for the ‘Poua Reo’ course run by Rangitāne Tū Mai Rā Trust - targeting local kaumātua and reconnecting them with their heritage and language;

…being a regular columnist for the national ECE ‘Space’ magazine and sharing with teachers all around the country how to use more Te Reo in the workplace;

…cultural advising and consulting with European Ambassadors and Embassies placed in New Zealand.

Outside of work, I have passions and interests in and for travel, good food, and anything creative, but most importantly, I am forever inspired in my daily interactions with my beloved whānau; especially my husband and darling children - they are my greatest champions and I couldn’t do anything that I do without their amazing support!
